Serving Wilsonville and surrounding areas - Since 1973

About Wilsonville Veterinary

Founded in 1973, Wilsonville’s first veterinary clinic was located at the corner of Barber and Boberg, originally serving as an equine hospital, owned by Dr Brent Milleson. In 1976, Ray and Lynn Calkins purchased the small animal portion of the hospital, in a town with fewer than 500 residents and just one stop sign. At that time, Barber Street was gravel and dead-ended at the railroad tracks, while Boberg was a dirt road surrounded by fields teeming with pheasants. The clinic’s Irish Wolfhound, Niña, and Tiger, the clinic cat, were known to roam the building freely during these early years.

As Wilsonville expanded, so did the clinic. The equine area was remodeled to accommodate new dental and radiology services, and in 2003, a major renovation added more exam rooms and a larger reception area for the growing team of veterinarians. That same year, Dr. Cheryl Lopate, a board-certified reproductive specialist (theriogenologist), opened her own reproductive specialty practice, Reproductive Revolutions, within the clinic’s office space.

In March 2011, Dr. Calkins sold the practice to long-term associates Drs. Jennifer Anderson, Kristen Hardinge, and Cheryl Lopate. The clinic continued to thrive under their leadership, strengthening its ties with both pet owners and breeders. Dr. Sam Tepper joined the team in 2017, and Dr. Eleas Wu, also a board-certified reproductive specialist, became an associate veterinarian in 2023. In March 2026, Drs. Lopate and Anderson assumed full ownership of the practice when Dr. Hardinge sold them her share of the practice.

Looking ahead, the clinic is set for another expansion in 2026, with plans to add more exam rooms, expand the dental and surgical areas, create a reproduction lab, and increase staff amenities, including break rooms and doctors' offices.

Throughout the years, many dedicated staff members have stayed with the clinic, and we’ve also welcomed many new faces as our practice continues to grow.

Our mission is straightforward: "To treat every pet as if it were our own and every client like family." We are committed to providing the highest standard of care through innovative medical and surgical practices, excellent patient care, and a strong focus on client education.
